This high specification set of breathable bumper padding includes a fine mesh window to facilitate light, air and visual contact for both patient, carers and relatives.
Protective bumper padding can prevent serious injuries to those that are sometimes affected by muscle spasms or prone to imbalance.
Unfortunately some people, following an involuntary movement have found their respiratory function restricted due to either the surface of the mattress and / or the bumper padding. Whilst these mesh windows can not guarantee that such accidents will not happen, they may assist carers visually and provide a more calming environment when used.
